Under NORMAL circumstances, I have always taken tons of photographs of various projects. They're around here (BYC) in various places. (There was that 8' by 8' coop Farmer Lew built for me, back in West Sacramento, which I am STILL trying to figure out how to get up here.. Or the resin shed I put together by myself - but that's been removed and given to my friends, as I have one up here.) However, for this Foothills stuff, I'm the Beginning Apprentice/Helper for the Contractor. I am too busy holding things, fetching things, asking questions, or just trying to remember where I last set down my phone. Almost every single photograph I post has been taken by my iPhone camera. It's just so easy to send the best pictures to myself to archive and utilize 'em. Plus share 'em with friends I know who aren't BYC members.
I kinda feel sorry for my friends who aren't BYC members. First, too many of them do not have chickens. I know their lives would improve so much if all of 'em had a few chickens. Second, they're all involved in work or hobby related forums which are not BYC. I mean, come on! I'm a member of some of those afore-mentioned non-BYC forums myself, and I can hardly remember when I last visited most of 'em. Public Safety Communications? Nah, I've been there, done that for a lot of years, not interested now. Amateur Radio associated with Public Safety? Yawn. I get as much "Emergency" stuff as I need from the USGS Earthquake notifications application on my phone and the 9-1-1 calls edited for television news broadcasts.
Today, John mentioned how "restful" it was to listen to the flock. All the little happy hen sounds, the roosters' "tid-bit" calls, the ducklings peeping amongst themselves contentedly.
You betcha. That's what it's all about, right there.
And it's freakin' threatened again.
The Board of Supervisors calendar this coming Tuesday includes the re-activated and re-scheduled item requested by The Complainant (or family member or associate): request to overturn the Admin Hearing decision made on Dec. 9, 2011, allowing me to keep chickens on this parcel.
It's hard to wave at them as they drive past, now. So I don't. I'm too afraid I'll only use one finger, which would be unladylike and beneath me.
