Now that's a great suggestion!

Good using your Nella brain!

Now if she could only make the realtor pay for the 1/3 acre out of her commission, that would be the best.

Linda/gryeyes has a bottle of Sobon Estates white port in her fridge, waiting for the perfect occasion!

The wineries we visited yesterday were Bella Piazza, Villa Toscano (owned by the same folks), and finished our day at Helwig's, a new winery in the Shenandoah Valley that just opened in May. My handsome better half, Farmer_Lew, works in the tasting room there.

I also love the Sobon old vine zin! They had it on sale at Pokerville Market down in Plymouth a few weeks ago for $9.99 a bottle! Linda and I found ourselves really enjoying the Bella Piazza viognier, as well as their Divino which is a full-bodied, smooth red blend.

It's fun to learn the things I'm learning about wine and sharing it with Linda. She is SUCH a hoot.

You captured it exactly.

Just thought I'd come out of the shadows here to say the same thing - I've been following this thread for a good long while. I almost couldn't log on to BYC for a while because I was too anxious about what might come of Linda's chicken troubles. Linda, your warmth and openness comes across so clearly. I hope you realize that you probably have a hundred gryeyes-fans rooting for you and always wishing you the best. And you deserve it! Thank you for sharing so much with us.

I love a great Viognier, not many wineries around here have it. Most of our wineries have the reds.

If you guys have the chance there, try Villa Castellano's wines. They are fantastic, especially the zinfindel and tempranillo.

Linda - I really hope you get All this stuff worked out. What a pain, especially with all the effort you went through to make sure you could have chickens there.

Oh, I already found that information... The really nice guy - the Prinical Planner - at the County provided me with the "owner of record" for those two adjacent land owners. One of the two said no (at least the wife did... I mentioned it some posts back). I haven't contacted the other, yet. But my little jaunt into the area of that person's address showed me two prominent "No Trespassing" signs. Phone number unlisted, so I can't call ahead before I take that step.

After hearing what happened with my first contact, my real estate broker suggested I not contact the other propertyowner until after the hearing; why spend money on land if I prevail against the citation?

Can you lease a half acre? Would that count? Owning your partial acre and leasing however much you need to make it "big enough"?

Maybe your realtor can pay for the leased amount

Ahh, you guys are doing my job for me...taking notes. I'm a fan of Viognier also. I'm looking for a nice Tempranillo, I'll see if Villa Castellano's has a distributor. Some of the best wineries don't make enough juice for more then their wine club and tasting room, but I'm always looking for something new and you gals are in the right county for my tastes.

I found the perfect kitchen cabinet pull knobs! They came in the mail today and I'm so jazzed.

The round one with a rooster and hen on it is the style I will put on the lower cabinet doors and drawers. The colorful, shaped rooster will go on the upper cabinet doors.

Amazon.com - Once there, I did a search on "rooster cabinet pulls" and two really good companies came up. There are other chicken and rooster knobs available; I bought a few of a couple OTHER styles, too.

I promise to post picture of those when they arrive.

The house I bought has white kitchen cabinets with really crappy knobs attached by hardware too long for them, so they hang out too far on the screw. But only on the top cabinets; all the drawers and cabinet doors below the counter top have nothing. Holes for knobs. No knobs or pulls. So I was inspired, since I had to buy some anyway.

The rooster knob is ceramic, while the round hen & rooster puls are wood with the image on 'em.
