Well, I am pretty sure Lizbeth is not in the house. And, during the week, I am not home in daylight hours. As she was an outside kitty from at least July to last Friday, she's probably okay somewhere. There is a coyote population around the warehouse where she hunted and caught mice and gophers, and the coyotes around here are not routinely this close to the residences, so I've got my fingers crossed she is hunkered down someplace. This coming weekend I will be calling for her outside, hoping she comes to a familiar voice - and some food! I feel so bad she's not all toasty warm in one of my closets right now.
I do call for her every evening, but I can spend more time looking for kitty hiding spaces. Hope she hasn't traveled too far.
I'm driving around with a rather large, wooden hutch in the back of my RAV4. The feed store loaded it for me last night, and I am not about to try to unload and move it in the dark when I get home at night. And I am certainly unable to do much more than get myself showered, dressed, and into the car in the mornings to get to work. Brewed a cup of coffee and left it at home this morning.
So I stopped in Plymouth to buy a cup of very hot coffee. Errr, that's all the Plymouth Trading Post offers... Meaning I didn't order it excessively hot because I'm a masochistic or anything. It's practically undrinkable until I nearly reach Rancho Murrietta. Just gotta stay awake behind the wheel until then.
The nice thing about the Hutch In The Back Of The RAV is it blocks the high beams of the jerks behind me who want to ride my bumper. I do not toodle around when I drive - trust me! - but 10 mph over the maximum speed limit ain't good enough for some idiots. (That's just on the straight-aways; I'm no speed demon on the winding mountain "highway.")
Coming home, it is so nice to see the Christmas lights I hung on the front fence and put in one, small cedar. Plus the wreath on the coop door. And the small tree twinkling out through a living room window. This weekend I will add the piece d' resistance: the illuminated, "caroling" chicken family I found on
eBay to replace the one destroyed at the rental! It can stay up though the First, and may it annoy the complainant across the street!
Oh, wait, did I type that out loud?
