Well, to stave you off until I actually have them set up in my yard, here's a photo of the box with a picture of 'em.

Very cool caroling chickens! How do you find all the cool stuff? I really liked the knobs you got for your kitchen cabinets. Hope you find the cat safe in your house somewhere.

Yes, that's where I got mine last year, too. However, my set was destroyed during the Great Migration Period from the time I stopped living in the rental and the time I was able to retrieve most of my stuff to move up here. Lowe's isn't carrying them this year. I looked EVERYWHERE for a replacement and finally stumbled upon a set just a leetle bit more pricey on eBay. Had to get it. Must have my illuminated caroling chickens!

OMG, I'm going tomorrow to see if they still have them! That is THE cutest thing I've seen!

I so hope Lizbeth is okay, wherever she is hiding... Or living. I am pretty bummed that she got out - she has to gave gotten out, as I have crawled on hands and knees to look everywhere under and around stuff. <*sigh

I spent some quality time with Simba last night. He's a funny bunny! I've set his cage on an antique card table (found it on eBay a couple years ago) and opened the big door to the cage. He came out and investigated the entire surface, looked over the edge, sniffed the outside of the blanket covering part of his cage, wiggled his nose at Dooley, and enjoyed some petting.

I picked up a space heater for the guest room and set it up. After a while, Simba stretched out real comfortable like. He let me skritch his tummy, too!

Major milestone: Dooley figured out what that electronic pet door was all about! Smudge has been using it for two days and Dooley watched him exit through the door, then come back into the house through it. Imagine a light bulb going off in a wiener dog's head. He carefully climbed the steps, poked his head out, then snuck out through the wall. I'm sure that's what he thought he was doing. He barked, outside, in that "I am here, on guard, nobody better be on my property" manner. I waited, sure he was going to go around the house and scratch at the front door.

About ten minutes later, the electronic panel raised and Dooley carefully slithered through the pet door and down the steps. Then he wriggled, shaking off the experience, I guess, and danced around showing me he was a very clever doggie.

Zorro knows HOW to use the pet door, but he doesn't want to go out in the cold. I still have to convince him it is in his best interest to go outside, even if it's through the front door.

I feel cheated. I moved to the foothills expecting to experience a White Christmas but it's not gonna happen. Oh wah! It's certainly cold enough for snow, but it's so DRY I am zapping myself on everything metal and occasionally startling the dogs and cat with static discharges as I pet them. They look so wounded that I would do that to them. I don't mean to, honest.

Four of the five porch chickens are huddling very closely now at night. Hitchcock always roosts a couple of feet away from them; I think he thinks he's their protector, even though Albert is one of the four. Albert will crow, but Hitchcock out-crows him.

I drove to work half-asleep this morning. I was okay until the heater FINALLY kicked in and warmed up the interior of the car. Not really sure cruise control is a blessing or a curse when I am so sleepy. I do know it's disconcerting to be unable to see through the rear view mirror when I snap awake! Glancing left and right to see what's behind me in the side view mirrors has - so far - reassured me I am not impeding traffic. Also, nobody honked at me, not even once. Maybe I'm not the only sleepy driver...

My supervisor is also saddened to learn Lizbeth got away. She wanted one of her kittens.... Oh, had I mentioned Lizbeth is preggers? I sure hope she hasn't gone far and will come back close enough to be lured by food. I blame Dooley for scaring her away, him and his big bark.

Aww Linda that just breaks my heart even more

When I was young we had a pregnant mama that went outside when we left for my Gramma's for Christmas Eve. Came home late that night, with it snowing I heard these slight little mews. I ran everywhere trying to find her. Out in the backyard under our huge Christmas tree (blue spruce so tall we could stand under it) she had started having her babies. I got a box and a couple of towels, brought her into the kitchen and watcher her have the rest of her kittens. Quite something for a young girl to watch. I was so thankful I heard those littel voices that cold night. But moral of the story is Mamas find the darndest places to have their babies. Oh I hope you find her

How close was she to having her babies? Do you know? Maybe she's just holed up somewhere getting ready for her new family. Hopefully you will find her soon, safe and sound.
