I just wormed my flock the end of Jan. Wazine 1st (16th) and 2 weeks later (28th) with Safeguard. I have been treating for lice/mite with poulrty dust, birds, roosts, coop etc. It is not working.
Would it be ok to use Ivermectin to treat for the lice/mites ?? Or is it too soon after the other wormers. ??

Probably you are not getting answers because people don't know the answer. I don't. But since chickens can actually die from a severe infestation, I'd do something, either the ivermectin or some 5% Sevin garden dust. If I lost them from it, at least I'd have tried. If I had to guess, I'd say they will recover from it.

I recommend sevin dust. http://ohioline.osu.edu/vme-fact/0018.html
Please read the link it will help you. You'll have to dust all your chickens and repeat dusting in 10 days. You'll need to dust inside their house, nests and roosts and redust again in 10 days. this will break their lifecycle.

Thanks & Sorry

ETA.... Already treated with the Ivermectin.. So hope I don't make them sick or die now. I have dusted & dusted & dusted. Only in 1 pen and I have 5 pens ?? All other birds are fine. All freerange together & split off and go in there own pens at night. So I know were the trouble is. This is a chain link dog kennel in the barn, I think I will remove and burn the roosts and repalce them. Unless these mites live in the dirt???
