Returning $$$ back for stimulus checks

Nothing galls me big time!

Now income tax filing will be upon us in a few months and after all that hoopla on the news and government officials saying we do not have to pay the check back at all. Now the government wants the money back even from us as low income and SSD payments that we owe now.

Why now? For those who are expecting income tax refunds, would see a smaller check and for those who owe, they will owe more.

Where did we go wrong here? maybe we should have given back the money to the government in the first place!

It was on CBS News a couple weeks ago and there has been talks about it. People around here are grumbling. I will go and find links for it if the news media has not blown it out of proportion or that "hype" going on.

Hmmm, I must have missed that. I did hear that GM was set to start paying back some of their bailout though. Also heard that the fed were considering another $250 for people on SS & disability since they aren't getting cost of living raises next year.

Gotta love NPR.

I'm reading up on it now. It looks like the IRS made a mistake setting it up and people that had more than one job ended up getting twice what they should have.

Did get one when Bush was in office.

I thought for 2009 we weren't given checks, we payed less taxes out of each check?
