Returning from Vermont

Hi Caitlin. I am in the Northeast Kingdom, about half way between St Johnsbury and Barre/Montpelier. Loving the fresh foot or so of snow we just got.

I am in Burlington - we got about 8 inches or so, but I think it will be starting to melt soon with the weather... Which is good b/c the girls are not fans of the snow!

Welcome... from a fellow Vermonter. Sounds like you have a good setup to start with! I think Barred Rocks are one of the best birds to start with. Great temperament, lots of eggs, pretty, cold hardy, and the roosters are huge great for eating!

Welcome!

Makes me miss Vermont badly. I grew up in Huntington, my parents still live in Georgia vt and Waterbury. I can't convince my husband to leave FL though.

I love this state. I moved here from California and while I love my home state, there is no living there anymore for me. Right before my husband proposed he asked me if I wanted to live here permanently. There is no other place for me.

I hope you get to come back every so often to visit though. My brother lives in South Florida and he loves coming up here to visit us. He'd love to stay, but his wife is from Sweden and she doesn't want to see snow again.

I do visit, I try once a year... But I truly miss it up there. I used to have a motorcycle, and I still dream about driving up and down mountains and down curvy roads...... Sigh.... :)

When I lived in Huntington, my neighbor had chickens and I enjoyed them as a child, when we finally moved out of the city, I remembered her chickens and had to get some myself. Now I am thoroughly addicted!!
