Hello, I have moved and after several years am getting back into raising chickens. I have ordered 10 from Meyer hatchery due in March. I will be getting some colorful egg layers and high yield brown layers. I have never ordered from a hatchery but could not get poults in the breeds I wanted locally. I am converting a kids playhouse into the coop and will have a 16 x 30 run. Any helpful suggestions are welcome.

Welcome to activity on BYC!
In your area, you will want LOTS of ventilation. You may want to consider removing the siding on the wall on the most sheltered side where the wind will not drive rain in and enclosing it with 1/2" hardware cloth.
Do not attempt to house more than 1 chicken per 4 square feet in the converted playhouse and aim for 1' of roost space per bird.
Good luck and congratulations.

Welcome back to raising chickens! Do you know what breeds you'll be getting? There are some playhouse conversions in the Coop articles section you should be able to find using the Search articles tool.

Best of luck to you, it's nice to have you here!
