Back in the fall, I witnessed an attack by a redtail hawk on one of my hens that was free ranged while we were home. Within seconds our 3-4 month old leghorn roo chased off the hawk. the hen was missing a few feathers but was unharmed. A few days later I saw a coopers hawk on top of that same hen... dead.
Anyway, a few weeks ago, the wind had blown the netting off the make shift run and I looked over to see my roo on top of a coopers hawk, trying to flog the heck out of it. Too bad my roo doesnt have spurs yet. I still laugh when I think about the rooster pinning a chicken hawk to the ground.
