Review of the 56 egg no brand incubator

I would have loved to have seen your review b4 I purchased mine but I found nothing.... my eggs still look good. now I know to put down aditional protection on the edges and I will be putting down a barrier under the eggs for lockdown. Thank you for your input

Ya I couldn't find much for review either. I found it to be a good incubator until day 21... It actually holds temperature quite well and brings the temp back up to 99.5 quickly if you open the lid. I also wish it had a little different water chamber system. I found with only the main water chamber it was fine for the 18 days but filling the outer ring and the main chamber was a little much for the lockdown. This could vary depending on your conditions. I really wanted that thing to work, especially the led lights to candle the eggs. Such a neat idea however I think it would work better if the egg turner was colored black so the lights wouldn't light up the entire unit making it impossible to candle. Your eggs will be fine just make sure to block all around the edge of the base so the chicks cant fall between the floor and the wall. Also place the eggs at lockdown anywhere but over the fan. Any egg shell pieces or muck from the eggs will cause the fan to stop and the unit to overheat and shut down. Good luck on the hatching and keep us updated on how they do.

I had read several reviews about ppl using shelf liner in the bottom of theirs I think that will be my plan at lockdown just make sure it has some holes for circulation and that it goes up the sides a bit... so far I really like it... I was disappointed with the egg candler but I only put 17 eggs in next time I am going to try and fill it and see if that helps... I am bringing home a new sponge tonight to try and make it easier to control humidity.... I will share how that goes. Thank you for your help

Ok today is day 7 so my girls and I candled the eggs.... ahem ahem. WE have 1 out of seventeen I am pretty sure is a clear (awww) 2 we see a color change at one end, 2 that are too dark to see into, 4 that show good veins and 2 little ones dancing up a storm ( my daughter names this one dancer) so far looks good to my untrained eye. Now sit on my hands right? lol! we really enjoyed seeing the little ones dance. I am still struggling with the humidity a little being able to add water from the outside is good but I can't really see the chanel and next thing I know we go from it being 25% up to 50% I am trying to get it to 40ish and hold.... sigh I will try the song thought tomorrow.

I tried covering the empty egg holes with little plastic checkers game chips. It didn't help the lighting to candle the eggs. The egg turner color is so light and it allows the light to penetrate it and light up the entire incubator so you can't see inside any of the eggs. If the egg turner was a solid black I'm sure it would work better.
Sounds like your eggs are doing well. I would take a peek at day 14 or so to make sure you don't have any rotten eggs that could explode.

I recandled last night and we have 1 I am sure is clear, one blood ring and 11 that are promising... very exciting I did manage to get the humidity down to 30% I am having trouble seeing the air sack on most of them but the one I could see looked a little on the small side so I am trying to hold the humidity around 30

Ps I got impatient with the sponge evidently it was too big my humidity went back up to 50 even when I cut it in half and it dries out completely overnight. My solution I found a cap just big enough to fit in the egg slot and filled it with paper towels seems to be holding ok

so today was day 15 my girls and I candled and pulled the 6 clears and the one that was an obvious blood ring. You can see in the picture the 10 we left in. 3 of the eggs are pullet eggs and a little bit on the small side. One looks questionable and 6 look good where we were able to see movement. A couple more days till lockdown and our air sacks are getting bigger! Feeling hopefull!!

Day 18 lockdown! The girls helped me get the incubator ready, we removed the turner. The bottom hatching area has quite a gap between it and the outside and after some advise I decided to lay down a shelf liner to protect my chicks from getting stuck or injured, I made sure it was a little oversized so that it covers the gap and goes up the wall aways

I had read about a user having trouble with liquid from the hatch getting in c the electrical parts and causing problems so I decided to set my eggs on egg carton tops

We added water to the wells in the bottom and right now I have two hygrometers plus the one on the unit and all three say different things but all of them are over 60% I think part of the discrepancy is that all the hygrometers are at different hights inside the unit. When we candled our remainin 10 eggs we were in agreement that one had quit so we removed that one the other nine went in. We have one white leghorn roo who is the dad to 6 and a rir roo who is the dad to the last 3. I have a variety of girls that lay brown eggs so not real sure on mom to all of them... there is one white leghorn egg so we will have one pure breed.lol the two green eggs are ee crossed with the white roo.. I am excited to see what we get. We Did See MOVEMENT in all 9 so yeah
