rhode island red alone .

hi,my plymouth rock 3 years old just dropped dead this morning,will my rhode island red be alright alone for a while ,till i can get another one. no choice but i was just wondering about it.she seems confused and not herself. thanks

I know that with lone chicks, many people put stuffed animal(s) in with them so they can cuddle up. I don't know if a grown hen would do that, but it's worth a shot. Give her something to keep her busy and entertained, like lettuce tied up or something. Maybe then she won't think about her friend as much

This time of the year in my area we have lots of farmers markets that sell started pullets, maybe you can pick up a friend for your baby on a farmers market in your area?
