Rhode Island Red & Buff Orpington cross

Does anyone have pics of a cross between a RIR Roo, and a Buff Orpingotn hen?... I'm planning on hatching some eggs, and was wondering if that particular cross made for a good laying hen? It seems to me that at the very least it sure would be a nice looking bird.

I think the lighter ones are a RIR-Buff mix. when we got them the only breeds he talked about having were RIR and Buff Orp's.

We bought them from a man who hatches chicks, yes. But it's more of a business than a hobby- he claims to have over 500 birds. Initially we got 12, and were told there were RIR's. And out of the 11 that survived, all but one were dark colored, truly RIR looking. At age 6 weeks, we took 5 roosters and traded them for hens that were supposedly the same age, and also RIR. None of them were reddish.
In the tomato picture on my post, the one with the tomato, and the one next to it, the darker ones, are from the original group.
We never saw "the farm" where the chickens lived. So we really don't know what was running around there. All we know is he sold RIR's and Buff O's No other breed mentioned.
As of now, they are just 16 weeks old, so it'll be another month before they start laying.
They are sweet birds, no matter what the mix. And kinda pretty in their own way ( except that poor mutt roo LOL)

Yours are just about as old as mine...I'm hoping to hatch a few next spring, and keep a few hens. I'm also going to try and hatch some RIR & Barred rock hybrids too.

Here is my BO/RIR cross....A little cockerel ^_^ His name is Cairo. He seems to be a bit flighty right now, but hes going through the stages of becoming a roo.....His tail feathers, since i took the photo, have become MUCH darker and more upright. He has such soft feathers

His dad was the Buff Orp. and his mom was the RIR...Hope this helps you any ^_^
