These are some of my BO/RIR that i hatched. Most are darker than BO's esp their tail feathers. They were approximately 6-8 weeks.

I think the lighter ones are a RIR-Buff mix. when we got them the only breeds he talked about having were RIR and Buff Orp's.

Have you noticed any of the broodiness being bred out of the chicks?
