Rhode Island Red - Confused on what is happening/need to do

Is there anything to do besides take her to a vet if she's eggbound? Any suggestions? (I will take her to one if I have too)

You need to check for lice and mites after she's gone to sleep, or just treat her with poultry dust or Sevin. A warm soak in lightly soapy water to get the junk off her is a good place to start. You can dry her with a hair dryer on low if you wish. Then a warm quiet place to rest would be good.

Here are two threads on eggbound:

I'm not sure what I'm seeing, but she does kind of look like she might be eggbound.

Good luck.

One of my hens did that. Turns out shr was egg bound. From what it looks like her female parts did something strange and the egg ied to come the wrong way pushing insides out. I got two eggs out of her but she died. Not saying your bird is doing the same thing. Just looks the same but my hen was really icky when I took the photos. Could she be egg bound .

Thing is though, I would think she was eggbound, but she laid yesterday, and she didn't make a fuss or anything. Like normal, every single time she sees us, she runs towards us to eat the food.
Is it possible for a chicken to still be laying AND be eggbound?

And in reply to the lice, it was snowing and she was playing in the snow, so I highly doubt they're lice eggs.
