Rhode Island Red..sexing???

how do u sex a RIR cause i might be getting a couple of chicks are they sexed by feather colours or something else any ideas im trying to get 2 pullets

I usually go by the size and color of the comb as they grow. Usually the males will have a larger more red comb than the females.

RIR chicks are easy to sex by one week old. Females grow wings and tail first and the males the same age are much further behind in development of wings/tail feathers. Males will get their combs first.
