Here is our RIR Roo "Big Red" or as my DD calls him "Scar." His comb and tail are a bit bedraggled after spending the winter running around in the snow, but he's gorgeous! He's 2 years old now. I love how he looks in the sun.

This is Ethyl. Ethyl lives in her cottage coop that her momma and that man built for her and brother Fred. Ethyl loves her momma (my DW), tolerates me and is an excellent layer of some very large eggs.

Ethyl was hatched by the man and mamma and was the first to move in, with brother Fred, 3 years ago last January. Ethyl lives with 13 lesser chickens and 3 pesky mallards. The only time she gives way to anyone is when the mallards get excited or the boys get rowdy. Fred taught her that. He was a bad a&^.

Ethyl lost Fred this last year which we believe was related to his developing crook neck when he was young. While Fred's condition left him quite harmless he always displayed a lot of attitude, ruled the feeder and did his best to defend the girls from people and other Roos.

Ethyl is my favorite hen but she is a little camera shy.

Here is "Red" when she was about 3 years old. We rescued her from a feed store because she was sick and we made her well again. Lost her last year, RIP
