Rhode Island reds

Just got home with my new chicken coop.
Would Rhode Island reds be a good choice for a first timer?

I really like my Rhode Island Red hen, and actually have a second one growing up right now as well as two RIR/Australorp crosses that hatched about two weeks ago. Overall, I enjoy the breed.

On the other side of the coin, I have heard that the roos can be rather aggressive.

They can be aggressive, but they are great layers.
