They are at 11-12 weeks old. I cant wait.

Chickens usually start to lay around 18- 20 wks. Just hang in there for a couple more wks even though it's tough!

I believe average for a pullet to begin laying, is about 19 weeks old. I've got 3 that are about 13-14 weeks right now

Hi. My RIR girl is at 20 weeks and I'm still waiting for that first egg. I'm so excited!

Thanks for all the input! They might be more mature for their age and lay early.....LOL J/K I just want some brown eggs!

The great thing about RIRs is that they tend to be good winter layers. Mine slowed down a little, but still layed all winter long. If I had to guess about 5 eggs a week each. So not everyday, but darn near.

I have 8 RIRs. 2 of them started laying at 19 weeks. 2 more at 21 weeks, and all were laying by 23 weeks.
