I found these and been doing some research. I think these are very interesting looking birds. I may have to try to breed some of these. I have HRIR, will need to get some Barred Rock hens. I read they don't breed true back with themselves. You can also feather sex them when they are young. Like I need a new project.

These are also known as Black Stars, Black Sex Links. Very common hatchery hybrid cross.

Yea, but I doubt if they are crossed with a REAL Heritage RIR. I bet there crossed with PRIR. If crossed with one of my really dark girls, just wondering the color to them. I would rather breed my own strain of them. Probably with the non breeder girls. Just a thought.

Of course the Black Stars, et al, of the hatchery world aren't crosses of heritage birds, on either side. LOL
