Beatha, who is having another bad hair day.
She is my only really consistent layer just now.
Most of my flock is molting & the rest haven't come on the lay yet.

I may, however, have my Wyandottes on the lay.
There have been some small brown eggs in the nesting boxes recently. Though Alpia is the only one I have seen in there, Wrold has had a beautiful bright red face & comb for some time now. They are about Araucana size. All my other brown layers lay a pretty big egg.

Personality wise I have found the Araucanas very different. They are a very different sort of chook to what I've been used to. They have the calmness of being quite self~sufficient, friendly but not cuddly & Beatha is a consistent if not prolific layer. Mhari hasn't laid since she went broody.

Apologies for the poor quality but the camera really wasn't up to the job.

That was wonderful. I just love the tone of her voice. It is marvelous. She is very good.

Thanks, Bob. She's been training with this company since she was 8 or 9 ~ & it cost us enough so she should be @ least able to carry a tune! They are a classically trained company though they can do more modern stuff. I am very proud of her. We couldn't afford the one on one training most of the other children got so the girl has had to work extra hard to keep up musically. That she is now teaching & singing says how hard she worked.

I just love her tone. It is clear she has worked very hard. I was playing it while sitting on the couch with Mrs BY Bob last night and she asked who was signing. She thought it was beautiful. So I got to listen without watching as she played it. It is very good.

I am just grateful she sings alto. My cousin is a mezzo~soprano who sang opera professionally & so far as I'm concerned sopranos are screechers. She's always on about *showcasing the voice*. Sorry. No. Just no.
