Ribh's D'Coopage

Had a bit of a white night last night. Up & paddling round @ 1am then finished the night on the couch with the cats & the fire so I'm feeling rather unscrubbed & pulled backwards through the gorse bushish this morning. Consequentially I was late checking on the girls so it is a blessing they can get themselves up & out of a morning & were more than ready to head into the big pen when I got to them.

A couple of hours & showers later they hurtled towards me when I checked on them & now everyone is back in the coop pen stuffing their faces. Lavender seems pretty happy to hang with Lottie & the Campines in the coop but everyone else likes a change of scenery ~@ least for short periods.

I am happy to say my girls seem to have gelled into a single flock. If I can get an afternoon where it is not freezing & pouring rain I am going to trial the Campines in the bigger run figuring [hopefully] they will head home to roost with everyone else. I know they are keen to get out. They are a lot better than they were but they will always be that little bit skittish. I don't mind that they're not *lap chickens* I just want them to hang with the rest of the flock & come when called. *sigh* Mealworms. Lots & lots of mealworms.

Good morning everyone! Happy Saturday :D It's election day here, we'll be choosing our next government in peace and (I hope) respect and camaraderie, with a sausage sizzle at the polling stations and maybe a few charities selling second-hand books or hand-knitted scarves and beanies :D yay! Can't wait to pop around there and have my say!
