Ribh's D'Coopage

I thought perhaps folks might like to see how Mary feathered out after her moult. She dropped her tail feathers about ten days ago, I'm pretty sure that was the last of it. I saw her eating shell grit a few days ago, so perhaps she's thinking about eggs again. She's also gone back to her old habit of suddenly stamping her feet, jumping on the spot, then running, usually in the direction of the pigeons when they're eating chicken food. Pretty sure she's almost recovered, but she's still very pale in the comb and wattles.

She looks spectacular!

My Tsuki has been inspecting the nesting boxes in my new coop and is looking plump and pretty after her big moult about 6 weeks ago. So here's hoping for a break in the egg drought!

Well!!! Didn't I put the cat among the pigeons [or chooks, as the case may be!] Tonight's dinner was late due to sons & sandstone & boats & tides & wanting a small tin of salmon for my poorly girl, Namaste. I had the foresight to open the tin & bring a teaspoon with me & to have food ready in all my other tubs but even so I was mobbed ~ by everyone except the one girl I wanted. I eventually managed to grab her ~ & OH BOY!!!! THANK YOU, @Bob. The girl hoed down tossing bits here, there & everywhere, which were immediately pounced upon by her less fortunate sisters.

Meanwhile Lottie was scuttling round really put out & being fended off every single feed station! My girls are unbelievably greedy little pigs! As soon as Namaste had finished I grabbed my handful of feed & Lottie came running immediately, hopped up on my fist & started scoffing. Then Luna found the teaspoon with salmon oil & ran off with it pursued by the entire flock desperate to scoff a teaspoon! It was a circus out there tonight. And I thought cats were bad when it comes to routine!
The mental image this conjured! :lau

Jeannie and all, just a heads up. I leave Sunday morning for DC. So next week I'll have very limited access to BYC. Pretty much only when I can get on the hotel's computer.
Thanks for letting us know, Bob. Always worrying when internet friends just disappear without warning. :) Have a good time ~ though I'm guessing you'll be working.

Yup working. A little frustrated at the moment. I'll be less than an hour from DD and family, and right now it looks like they've scheduled mandatory fun every evening. I may be there for an entire week and not get to see the grand kids.:rant
