Ribh's D'Coopage

Well it's nice to have a reason. Now that you know you can clean everyone else up and move forward. That's good.
Yes it is! I'm sorry I missed the Cocci but I know I checked for it. I even dosed everyone with Amprolium right @ the beginning just in case but it was so wet I guess the dosage diluted too much, or perhaps Gonril was just too sick to start with. Mind you, it was her lameness that was causing me the greatest concern @ the time. I should have stuck with my gut instinct but she wasn't showing any of the symptoms listed until the last morning. :idunno

They are so pretty, and they ARE growing!
Thank you. I think they are incredibly pretty. I was showing the vet pics this morning as I discussed worming with her & she was enchanted with them too. She keeps chickens too & wanted to know where I'd got mine from. I'm glad everyone else is noticing growth. it's hard for me to really tell because I see them every day. :)

They are just so good at hiding it. It's sad. If only they would confide in us.

Cheesecake done. Jelly & custard cooling for the trifle. About to start the carrot cake. I swear my kids only come for the sweets. No~one's interested in an actual meal!
You make carrot cake! My gosh I have to come see you, just for the food if nothing else. I love carrot cake.

Yep. I do know she felt loved & safe. Even the cats didn't upset her. I had her in a little box on the kitchen table where she could hear her flock, look outside & get a little breeze. I was feeding & watering her @ regular intervals & she lacked for nothing I could give her except experience. :(

I make the best carrot cake. It comes from a friend married to an American NASA electrician & my boys love it more than any other desert. It is absolutely decadent!

You did right by her :hugs :hugs

The good news is that having made a right old mess of my bathroom Wrold looks like she can rejoin the flock this afternoon. No bokking & fluffing. No screaming & biting. She has a lovely red face, wattles & comb ~ though whether the flock will be happy to see her remains to be seen.

Huzzah! :bun :bun :bun

Hope she stays "unbroody" for you Ribh.

Thanks, Bob. :) It is! I'm so relieved. She wasn't eating properly, not really dustbathing or grooming & I really wasn't happy about any of it. Her dedication & determination were phenomenal!
I can see why you were worried! When Pepper was broody last month at least she'd go for a drink and a bite to eat before heading back to the nests.

It will be a good sign if she goes straight for a dust bath. :fl
