Ribh's D'Coopage

I know you have said the name of the book you will be reading but I have gotten muddled and started looking up Sylvia Plath instead of Virginia Woolf. 🙄

What is the title? I want to have a look in my local library.
Oh dear, where were my manners? I forgot to say "please".
It's The Voyage Out ~ Amazon reviews if you find them helpful.
Thank you Ribh, :thumbsup.

My library has a copy as an e-book. I might have a go too.

Wow. I think we are all being very brave. I can think of easier authors! 😆

Can you put in your 2 dibs worth as whether you want to comment on the book here, a new thread, or PM? I'm happy to go with what the majority prefers.
It might be best to make a new thread for the purpose if BYC allows it. That way we will not be disturbing the chicken talk here, but people can drop in and have a look if they are interested.

I understand. You are far more a people person than I am. :hugs I am happy if I don't see anyone outside the family for weeks on end but that's fairly unusual & not particularly healthy for most people.

I find people interesting ~ but exhausting. I do not have the emotional stamina or whatever it is to deal constantly with people. It quite literally makes me ill. My OD gets cross with me but I know my limits.
I feel very much as you do. I get "peopled out" after a while which makes me very irritable in time.
It's good to know your limits. I have to send myself to my room if I'm not feeling sociable. ☺️

Yes, yes I have...it's only 253 pages so how hard can it be...right...just a light read...right? :gig
Out of curiosity, have you ever tried Woolfe before? :gig Her writing style is dense & @ least 2 of us have tried & failed miserably. This way I figure MJ will hold me accountable & I might actually finish one of her books!:lau

I have to recharge quite drastically after any social event. :( I can be extremely social but @ a cost. 😁 Knowing this about myself means I usually try to pace myself so I don't burn out ~ or worse, start attacking people because I suddenly feel lousy & burned out.:th

I never have...as I've stated before I'm more into the fantasy genre...this will stretch me and I'm looking forward to seeing what you ladies have to say about it...I might not have much input, but I'm excited to learn about breaking down a story line and also learning about the author...this will be completely new territory for me! Honestly, I'm a little nervous! :)

Don't be nervous. You can fake it with me. ;) I know about Virginia Woolfe but have found actually reading her more than a little difficult. In all honesty I think she might have served literature better by becoming a poet. Not sure why she didn't. She has a poet's eye.

ETA: Fantasy is far more my thing. I have no idea why I studied literature @ uni but I did. It's a mystery. 😆

I can be a good faker...lol! I truly do not have a background in literature...but it's never to late to try something new...so the energizer bunny will just have to give me a little bit of time for this! ;)
