Ribh's D'Coopage

Nice and cozy!
I got a bed something like that - it may be the same one actually - and one of my cats almost never leaves it - so I got another in a different color - nobody will touch the new one.
:th
Is that a bit like everyone wanting to lay in the same nest? 🤦‍♀️

The neighbours have 2 white bantams.
Their dog thinks my white bantams belong next door & attempts to herd them along the fence line. Yesterday Mrs approached me & asked if I had a dozen eggs spare as one of her 2 has gone broody. I give all my spare eggs away @ church & hadn't collected yet so took her eggs over later ~ most large as the bantams aren't back laying yet. Mr answered the door. After thanking me for the eggs he cautiously enquired if I had a rooster. I assured him I have no rooster despite Aoife & Ha'penny's antics but there are quite a few people round here with chooks. I'm not sure I understand people's aversion to a rooster's crow. There are sirens going off constantly round here. Much more distracting! Anywho...Mrs came to the fence later to pay for the eggs, which was sweet of her as I don't charge. I'd rather see them used than wasted. And confession time: she has found the *rooster*. Her dominant hen is crowing! 🤣 She was quite distressed but I assured her it's perfectly normal. I've had several crowing hens. Not sure how she's going to explain that one to hubby. He's not keen on the chooks as it is.

It can be very hard to convince people who don't know chickens that hens can and will crow. I must admit, when you first see and hear it it's a bit of a shock.
