Sorry Bob, no pics and only for an hour or two. I hitched a ride on a C-141 that made a stop there to drop off some cargo. Hawaii is worse... Been there a half dozen times and never saw anything other than the ramp, HQ and the O-Club. In my last job, I visited all 450 or so federalized airports over three years... didn't see much other than the airport.

ETA: On my trips to Hawaii, sometimes my friend would let me do some of the driving, so that was fun as we were in a two seat F-16.

Bummer Bob, but still very cool. I thought getting to all 50 states would be an accomplishment but you have lapped me there. I still have Nevada to go. Just like Antarctica for you, Utah was just a connection at the airport but I'm counting it.

I once won a sales contest and got to drive an F16 flight simulator. That was coolest thing. I got to shoot down some B52s, not much of a target I know but it was unbelievably hard even at that. Man did I smash it up trying to land!

At least it was only the simulator. When my dad was 1st flying he & his mates had bets who could get airborn lowest to the ground. Unfortunately there was a hedge...

With @Kris5902 & Bob hatching I was reminded...

Many moons ago when my lot were little they found an abandoned baby bat. Out here our Native baby bats ride on the mother until they are quite big ~ certainly bigger than this one was ~ so either it had fallen off or something had happened to mum. Being well trained little munchkins they knew better than to interfere without cause so informed me. *sigh* It was clinging to a grass spike & crying pitifully but I hardened my heart until it became obvious no mum was coming for it & its chances of surviving the night in close to zero temps & wind was pretty much non~existant. So we brought it inside & I spent an hour on the phone trying to find a wild~life expert who knew what we should do until they could take it off our hands.

By then, naturally all the shops were shut, all the boats had stopped running & I had a very hungry little bat.

I wasn't farm raised but when I was very little my poppy ran jersey cows & I had stayed on the farm often enough to know how poddy calves were weaned so I pulped up some fruit & dunked my fingers in for the bat to suck on.

Every child in the house naturally wanted to try this, so...oldest first! The bat latched on. Strong suckling instinct. It wouldn't let go & my child became hysterical! It was an interesting night.
