Ribh's D'Coopage

Good evening folks :frow

WhoDat, nice play palace.

So you guys recall how happy I was when Mary started laying again after her big moult and her winter holiday. Anyway the weather went chilly again so she went on second winter holiday for a few weeks. Now today, she's on the nest again!

Isn't it amazing what a sudden change in weather can do to our egg supply... Glad she's back at it.

Jeannie, that looks like it was dropped from the roost. Did you find it early morning? I've found a few like that from my older girls. My best guess is that they didn't get it laid during the day and pop it out after they've gone to roost. And that's just a guess.

I was playing around with my camera some more last night. I'm just thrilled with the photos this takes.

This is BG. She/He is the chick from my Memorial Day hatch. Mom is Lacey, my mille fleur d'uccle and Dad is my Blue Splash Silkie Roo, Thunder.

I'm thinking BG is going to be a boy. I will keep him as long as Thunder doesn't object.

My daily egg count is increasing again since the chook have daily access to the run now.

Mason was super proud of his Vickie laying her first egg!

Wow, What a stunning chicken. And look at those feathers on his/her feet! Like a flamenco dancer!

The first egg is very exciting. Kidlet looks really chuffed :)

I hadn't thought of that, Bob. I've got a couple of really late layers so that's a definite possibility. I can't say I noticed it on my first coop run but a Campine was laying & they really hate being disturbed so I wasn't doing my usual check.

Well, it looks like Pepper slept on the same perch as Edwina and Alice last night with minimal fuss. But when I cleaned out under the roost this morning there was blood mixed with her poop.

She doesn't appear to have any injuries as far as I could tell and she is moving around and eating and drinking normally. Could it be a response to the worming medication?

Can you get a picture of the poop?
