Oh dear. I blush to have to admit this but...the cats were chasing down this teensy weensy field mouse in the garage & it was crying sooo bad I couldn't stand it so my YD & I caught it & let it go outside. The man just looked @ us as if we were insane & said: You know it will just come right back inside, right? Well, yeah, but whatever happened after that point I wasn't going to be around for! I leave the house when the blokes are doing seafood because I know the things scream...No healthy animal wants to die & yet realistically I know the only thing to do with excess roosters is eat them ~ otherwise they create havoc & mayhem in the flock & that's not good husbandry.Yea, hubs could def cull if I ever need him too.. he’s a duck hunter and on occasion when they just wound a duck and the dog brings it in alive he has to kill it on the spot.. and when he would bring the boys hunting as little children and I found this out.. you know, how he would ring it’s neck right there in front of my sweet innocent little angels!!!!!! I was livid!!!! And all the while I’m at home teaching them how to catch and raise and release these sweet little ducklings
... but now they know how to ring a neck too and it doesn’t faze them... MEN
... but honestly.. that’s what I love about em.. how they can just take care of business!!
Last year when I got my chicks.. I had them maybe only 8 weeks and a giant rat took up residence right next to the mini coop.. hubs chased it down and chopped it with a shovel!!! I couldn’t even listen to it squeal
.... he’s SO manly

... and I’ll admit... I do not watch as they dump the crawfish and crabs into the boiling water
.. and fire ants!
...but NOT spiders.. I love em!!

& hubby had a pet roo [as in kangaroo] as a kid. Cousins had wallabies. My brothers had a salt water fish tank & I've seen sharks & seahorses hatch ~ & the never ending saga of the blue ring octupi. Man, can those things squeeze through minute gaps!

We had a movie night last night, and the little bugger sampled a little of everything we brought back home, then promptly forgot about and left in the car overnight. Twizzlers, crackers, chips, chocolate bars, chocolate wafer cookies, and some cheese.
