That's all true. I had sooooo much fun in Saudi with my Aussie friends. And we loved picking on the Brits. It's all good Bob, Aussies are wackier than most ~ as I'm sure you know! And cats are always good for taking the mickey; they look like such mini adolfs & are adorable cuddly sooks in reality.
That's hysterical! The poms are always good for a laugh. The best ones can laugh @ themselves too! That's all true. I had sooooo much fun in Saudi with my Aussie friends. And we loved picking on the Brits.
I may have said this before, just because I'm old and forget what I've said. But my Aussie friend from Perth put me into total laughter during one of our meetings in Saudi. The Brit was going on and on about how to plan for war fighting and all of his assumptions and theories were wrong. I spent the whole meeting biting my lip and then my buddy chimed in.... Guess he had all he could take. He looked him square in the eye and said: " Mate, you've been kicked off two continents and the only war you've won in the last 200 years was on a tiny island" I couldn't help myself... I went into uncontrolled laughter.Still makes me laugh

Oh, well, that's politer than some things I hear...btw, the Brit's largely refer to us as uncivilized rabble.![]()
I have scotch heritage too. I was in an airport somewhere, sorry don't remember where, and saw a pic of my grandmother's grandmother.... She was boot legging scotch. Now the label is Johnny Walker. Once they legalized it, she sold the distillery. Funny, fruit doesn't fall far from the tree... When I was in Saudi I had 13 labels of my own hooch. We, of course, are all criminals! And yet I'm only 2nd generation. Half my family is still in Scotland.

It always makes me laugh because most of the earliest Aussies ~ the ones they sent out on the transport boats, were the *expendable cannon fodder*: The Welsh, Irish & Scots they starved & margalalised & then hung for trying to stay alive until they decided Terra Australis was a better option & then they wondered why they had so much trouble with the Aussie troops in both World Wars!I have scotch heritage too.
