Yes he is, however he seems to have a rather good brain, we just need him to use it more.
When I took him out this morning, I took him along the chicken runs, the chickens looked at him and went on about their business. He was very interested, but he sat right beside me and just looked. No barking or lounging. It will be a long time before I trust him with the chooks, but all in all I think he'll be ok.
Be careful. They are very smart and can be trained but in the end they are BIRD dogs and will retrieve birds for you.

Rich is a lab man, always has been. He's always used his labs in hunting, but they were still treated like pets. He will be his primary trainer and master.
