I'm depressed. Treacle doesn't love me any more. The same happened with Cillin. I'm going to have to write off to one of those agony aunts to see how I can make myself more attractive.
He didn't even bother to come around today. I saw him up by the hay rack flirting with Tap.
I took lunch up as I have recently and he was off with Moon somewhere.
I might try a new pair of boots. Perhaps the old ones have got a bit smelly.

Mel is over being broody it seems. She left the coop this morning with the others and has been hanging around with Cillin and Fat Bird. Both Tap and Hurry came to lay eggs and I only just got to put a couple in the nest box in time to provide encouragement.

On the cuddles side this thing with Fat Bird in the morning seems to have become a routine.
Cillin still waits a few moments for her but she won't jump down and join him. They're fine together after I've put Fat Bird down beside him at breakfast.
The tribe split seems to be Cillin, Fat Bird, Mel, Hurry and Fudge. Treacle has Moon, most probably Tap and even Tackle will crouch for him now.

Mhari ~ any chance she can get!
She's back out in the little coop for the day.
For a young hen she's very determined.

Suyin ~ also having a hard molt.
It is making her even more bad tempered than usual.

So today I tried it out on both Hattie and Phyllis today. Nothing happened. They looked at me like something was wrong with me. It must just be your hens.

I have a broody too ... it is Cutie this time.. white Cochin bantam.. last year Tunie went broody and she was very young also.. just like your gal.. but Tunie was pretty easy to break.. not so with Cutie.. I’ll try and get a pic of her in jail..

So today I tried it out on both Hattie and Phyllis today. Nothing happened. They looked at me like something was wrong with me. It must just be your hens.

I tried it with both Lottie & Ha'penny. Lottie looked @ me as if I was quite mad & Ha'penny hated it. Couldn't think what I thought I was doing. Very strange all round. Medh is an odd little hen though ~ quite the bravest of the new Campines.

Ha'penny has got to be a quite a large hen ~ much bigger than I expected she would & is now laying a bigger & heavier egg than Hepzibah, who is a Barred Rock & occasionally lays doubles. Hepzibah's is in front, Ha'penny's is @ the back.

I'm glad it's not just my hen. At least you know the secret to her heart.
