My Easter Egger is the sweetest and quirkiest! And they lay green or blue eggs... just some for thought..![]()
I went for a looksee because I was wondering if the term *easter~egger* might be an American thing [it's not] & got this link:I would *love* blue or green eggs! I'll look into easter eggers but so far I haven't seen any down my way.
I've had to do it once & it was awful knowing they were going to be somebody's dinner eventually but they were really nasty birds ~ just not to me. Great guard birds. No~one could get near the place if they were out & about. So never again. If I was on property & totally free ranging I would do it but I'm not & really have no need of a rooster.Definitely pullets for me! I haven't the heart to get rid of cockerels.
Yay for roosting smarts!Update on roosting... I think they are figuring it out.. how I could tell.. the poop was under some of the roost farther down! Didn’t want to post a pic of that... but looks like they are spreading out
And went to TSC and they replaced the one I lost.. so now I have a new Nina and she fit right in with the babies and mama without a hitch!... I think she is a mottled

I feel so blessed. The sunrise disappears so fast. It was brilliant red when I got up & I missed it hunting for footwear & camera.Amazing.
