Yay.. MJ!! Happy for you and I hope it all works out!Hi peeps
I was offered a rescue yesterday! I said yes, but I haven't heard back again, maybe today? She was found wandering the streets, so she may have been claimed by her owner.
But! I'm already in love with her and I want her to come and live at my house. From the picture, I'd say she's an older red layer, maybe isa brown? I'm a bit concerned about that poop, but maybe it's not one of hers.
If she does move in, I'll be calling her Sandy after a much-loved aunty who's no longer with us.
lol I was considering a Baker's Dozen ~ 'cause that's 12, right?twelve is such a common number. I think it's just a springboard to 15 and 20.
Oh haha!! I love it!!! That is just fantastic! I wish hubs would take an interest... I can’t even get him to look their wayWe are making progress. Everybody was downstairs & outside when I got there this morning. Later than usual. The man & I had a *white night*. Still plenty of pecking but everyone managed to get something to eat & drink & a spot of dustbathing.

The older girls went en mass to the nesting boxes. I've never been able to figure this lot out. Hepzibah is my only consistent layer & she has an entourage any time she heads for the nesting box. Two or 3 get in all together but whether it's for company, moral support, or because they think egg laying is catching I have no idea.

Standing round watching the chickens is the latest activity around here. Even the Man has caught the bug but I am a little concerned. All along he has made it clear the chickens are my thing. He wasn't mad keen on the whole enterprise but if I wanted chickens, so be it!
The BAs & the BRs didn't get him overly excited [though I think they are lovely!]. Then I brought Lavender & Lottie home. Now he has the chicken bug in the worst possible way. He is the one talking about when am I going back for more, what kinds do I want & how much more run am I going to need? He thinks Lavender is a glory & a wonder ~ & of course she is! And he is fascinated by Pebbles ~ all that sass in such a tiny hen! lol I am being torpedoed from all sides when I am trying to stay within a 12 limit.
