Ribh's D'Coopage

Okay yall, this is what I have observed... by having the middles next to the big gals (BG) ... I think they got a feel of the ranking order by seeing what’s happening on the other side of the wire.. cuz when I brought Kelly in they seemed pretty comfortable and would walk near her.. and remember.. even Mak gave her a peck! When I brought Sunny(BuffOrp) Lilly went right up to her and was picking dirt off her back end AND tried jump on her back!... don’t know what that was about ... and Sunny just moved aside.. but when I brought Kathryn in... oh boy, they stayed far away! Like they KNEW! She is the bully, btw! They stayed pretty far from Rosemary too.. So it is very interesting that it seems they already know who is where!! So maybe things will go pretty smoothly :fl

maybe I should just get a cassowary instead? Just looked that up thanks to y’all... looks like they would be even more effective than peacocks! And wow, scary birdie... next time there’s a “vicious rooster” thread someone should link in that! Give the OP a little perspective.

I swear, if they are still there tomorrow I’m going to let Chickie Hawk out to give them a piece of his hormones/mind ;) the goats that is... unless we find more squatters. I don’t know why they call it “tourist season” when you can’t get a license to hunt them! And no, according to my husband we cannot call them vermin and shoot them as pest control either
:lau You're on a roll! Ha! Ha! At least tourist season is short.

We have been flat out inside trying to earn the money to pay for a whole heap of ponds for a whole heap more waterlilies. *sigh* Both me & my mate can be completely obsessive when we get a bee in our bonnets but all this stuff has to be paid for. Sadly that has meant not so much time for my chookies & this afternoon I decided that needed to change because my newbies are still getting bailed up in the coop. So I went in with treats & a chair & became *Top Chook*, pecking at anyone who tried upsetting the newbies as they tentatively inched downstairs for corn, scrambled egg & some dustbathing. So glad I made the effort. The enjoyment amongst the girls was contagious! Tomorrow that extra run is definitely going up. I need to shake things up a bit but I swear my girls are weird. I have 2 in full on molt. We are going in to winter & I got 4 eggs today ~ & it must be my old girls! None of the others are laying yet.
