Afternoon, Bob. We've had a white night & today is shaping up frustrating & the sun's barely over the horizon. I am about to go & do battle with google maps & hope for the best.

Okay, half of my new addition is under water ... so went and got six bags of pine bark and four bags of pine shavings.. when things dry up I am actually going to fill it with mud.. it definitely needs to be raised... my original run is nice and dry.. just wet around the edges.. it used to get wet and nasty in there as well but since I add materials on a regular basis.. I have unintentionally raised the floor... but that is a good thing!

Yep. Nothing nastier than a wet chicken run. Raising it sounds like a good idea. It will make the girls happy too.

Hey there, Bob! Well, @ least 1/2 of my problem is solved. My DIL is picking me up from the jetty. We are having lunch with my mother & YD several suburbs away but it is going to be a big day.

It will be lovely. Just hope it warms up a little meantime. I am not a fan of the ferry in winter.

Lottie is waxing plump & despite her tiny size is not right @ the bottom of the pecking order. That honour is reserved for Soda & Patricia/Penny.

So yesterday Lottie showed signs of wanting to be in the outside pen with the big girls. She finds getting out the gate slightly problematic as she has to jump up but she was determined & I am happy for her to have some time in the bigger run. The Campines are not. They are getting really ratty about being the only convicts marooned in the Coop run. However Lottie is naughty. She never stays in the run. There must be somewhere she is getting under the wire because every time I let her out I invariably find her standing in the garden beside the coop staring fixedly into space obviously zonked out on Basil fumes. She never wanders away. She never strays from the coop. She doesn't cause any damage [unlike some others I could mention!] but she will not stay in the run. I thinks she does it because she can. She will find herself on defaulters today too.
