Thanks! I did not know that about day lilies.. my cats don’t go out ever... but that’s good to know...
Here is an update on Deana's crop that I just posted on my "emergency" thread:
"I offered her a teaspoonful of coconut oil about the consistency of peanut butter this morning and she gobbled it up happily. She let me massage her crop quite calmly, though she was making weird faces.
After a few minutes the crop felt quite deflated and empty.
They've just gone to roost for the night and her crop was quite full, though not as hard as it has been. I gave her another teaspoon of coconut oil (Tsuki had some too) so I'll check her crop in the morning. I'm very pleased with the result so far and she laid a big egg today.
Looking good!"
Foggy morning here

And for those of you of a praying disposition: I have to attend DILs Baby Shower tomorrow. More people than I normally see in a week, most strangers. I'm freaking already & about ready to flee howling into the mangroves. As that's not possibleI manage to behave like an adult ~ mature or otherwise...

Great news!
Glad Deana is doing better![]()
That seems extremely positive. Good work.
Thank you! I am quite happy with all of them... but am wondering if anyone knows why my new layers.. LB, CM, and SS all lay bantam size eggs!? I know new eggs take awhile to get right but none of my other standard gals laid small eggs.. even when starting out.. and it’s been a few weeks now and they are still small.. looks like the CM and SS eggs are getting a tiny bit bigger but still small compared to the size of chickens these gals are! Mak (CM) is huge! And Goosie (SS) is short, fat, and squatWhat a lovely variety of beautiful birds! No wonder you get such a colourful basket of eggs @WhoDatChick
