Good morning folks
Most good feeds have some fish or crab meal in them. I have no idea why the birds like it, but it's loaded with all kinds of good stuff. Maybe they somehow know that. IDK? Lots of folks in Alaska supplement their feed program with fish waste. Most feed manuals say that fish should not be more than 5% of the total ration, again assuming we give treats for 10% of total diet.
I found a decent feed that I can use as a base for ducks and turkeys but I'll need to add vitamins, fish, soy, and alfalfa to it to boost it up. Maybe even a little kelp.

Mr Google doesn't know why either...
It is definitely weird because apparently not all chickens like fish. That mine do is extra weird as I would never willingly have given them fish. Ghastly stinky stuff!Yet from the first time everyone loved it & fought to get the last juicy scrap.
