Oh yes! The big girls are: Henny Penny, Gertrude, Dotty, and Beatrice! The little girls are Poppy, Violet (the EE's) and Rosie and Gladys the Marians. Gladys has turned out to be the Roo!

Love the names. Any particular theme or that is just what they seemed their names should be.?

I swear this lot are quite mad.
Some wild bird in the far, far distance sounded the alarm & every bird I own turned tail & fled into the coop.
But Marlow saunters around their perimeter & all they do is watch him. Not a cackle out of the lot of them!

I'm sure they know who Marlow is already and besides if little Phyllis isn't afraid of Davis, why would your lot be afraid of silly Marlow.

I love the names! One of my very 1st chooks was a black girl called Henny Penny. She was a lovely girl. Are you allowed to keep a roo? Everywhere is so different in regards to roos.

I had a Henny Penny too! Such an original name.

Well, my flock started with 4 Australorps 10 weeks ago! I adore them as does my husband! At about the 1 month mark, chicken math struck...I added 2 Cuckoo Marians, and 2 Easter eggers! So...now we have 8! Lol! The "big" girls are out in the coop while the "little" girls are in for maybe 2 more weeks. Oh, did I mention one of the little girls is a Roo?! Oh dear!

I love chicken math!!! My husband is from Butler, what area of western PA are you in?

I figured how could I have hens and not have a Henny Penny! Lol! Yes, we can have a roo, but im not sure if I want one. My plan was hens. A good friend might take him. We'll have to see!
