If you have not seen the movie Chicken Run you really need to. Your coop and run are the embodiment of that movie in some ways. Minus the evil lady chicken owner of course.

What she wanted was out so she could go lay somewhere I don't want! All my Campines can be a bit this way on occasion but Morrigu is in a league of her own!

She's loud

She sure is ~ & that's not even close to as loud as she can get when she's having a full on tizzy.

I figured that's what she wanted...lol! I would love to add one or two to my flock, but I'm sure my 6' fence would not keep them contained & I would be so sad if they got out & something happened to them...still, I'm tempted!

I love these birds but they definitely aren't for everybody. They are not placid cuddly types. They are super smart & very determined ~ 2 reasons why they're probably not more popular given how beautiful they are. Too much work for most people.

Chicken Run is the best! My son had it on high rotation a few years ago when he was younger.

I read everything. I do have very eclectic tastes. The last book I read was a fascinating accounting of the events leading up to the 1964 Indianapolis 500. There was a terrible wreck and the race was stopped for the first time ever. It was an excellent build up to the event, gripping telling of the accident and best of all an excellent follow up on all the safety features that were developed as a result of it. Excellent book.

Before that it was the fantasy epic series Frostborn, remember the dark elves?

The book before that was I think an historical fiction and a private detective before that. I think the last real "literary" book I read might have been A Tale of Two Cities.

I'm reading Frostborn right now! Epic fantasy is my favorite Genre! Have you read "The Legend of Drizzt" by RA Salvatore? My favorite series of all time!

I might as well call my little farm,"Under the porch chickens" rather than "Backyard Chickens." They seem to always be under my porch (Cool, and dark in there). And rarely come out to play with me anymore, unless I have some new treat for them.
Jaffar my rooster, has a cold too. His voice is strained, and has a gurgling sound as he breathes. Poor little guy!

I think the other egg is Aoife's. Morrigu is laying quite late & I don't think Medh is @ the moment. Ha'penny's is a lot larger but...wow. I know she's a big girl but...
