Ribh's D'Coopage

Silkies do look cute, but I couldn't cope with them and from what little I know about them, they are not suitable for the life they would have to lead here.
And Silkies are the (Toy Poodles) of the poultry world!

I'm seeing certain breeds ie Mediterranean & Polish are more prone to hen spurs. Guess Campines could be another. @Shadrach do you know about Fayoumies?
I don't Ribh. Next time I see Mohammed I'll ask him.

They are hawk bait round here. Not many people keep them on the island. You can get better layers better able to take care of themselves.

Very cool. I love your non chicken photos almost as much as the chicken photos. 🄰
I'm afraid I have a very flibberty~gibbert brain. Lots of things interest me ~ for short periods... šŸ™„ :lau

What a beautiful hen. 🄰
She is lovely, Bob. Sweet as can be but completely batty. I have to watch I don't step on her when I'm out with the girls as she hangs underfoot ~ unless she's broody of course. Her sister is a chook of a different feather!

Writing about fences sent me looking at old pictures.
I did this for 12 years in all weathers all over the UK.
Notice the stupid o'clock times.
