Those two stick together then?My broodies have quit ~ @ least for the time being.
So I thought, don'tcha know, that last evening everybody would be back in the big coop & all one big happy family again.
Medh & Suyin had other ideas.

They refused to go into the big coop to eat.
Whenever I stepped out into the run as I went about my chickeny chores they headed hopefully towards the small coop.
Eventually I gave in. I put fresh water & a tub of food in there for them & in they went as good as gold.
I'm warning you, girls, this is not a long term solution!

But, but, but why not mom...it's so peaceful in the little coop...My broodies have quit ~ @ least for the time being.

They are hard to figure out sometimes...so many different personalities! Those two stick together then?
The moulters here are not the slightest bit interested in sharing a coop with anyone. Donk is making optimistic dives for various tree branches. Myth keeps trying for the hedge. Knock goes in and the pecking starts when the others try to get in.
Tribe 2 is quite laid back if reluctant by comparison.![]()
That's the really odd thing; they don't. Medh is a bit of a loner & usually on the fringes of the flock. Suyin usually hangs with her sister, Luna, or the BRs & Lavender. She's a mean bossy hen by nature but is too frail to really hold her own against the big girls just now. Even the bantams can push her off the food. I don't mind giving the pair of them a little time out. Neither is sick so far as I can tell. They just seem to need a little time out from the hustle & bustle of the main flock. Everyone mingled together in the run but when I doled out dinner these 2 made it clear they'd like their non combat zone to continue...Those two stick together then?
