They are a dual purpose breed & winter layers.@Ribh , so I had to look into the Vorwerk breed. I’ve never heard of a white ear-lobed chicken that lays brown eggs. And are tgey onbthe small side, too? You are going to have so much fun!
My downfall.Another pretty pair! You sure are good at finding the interesting breeds Ribh.![]()
Thanks ACM. I've been watching them sort out their pecking order this afternoon. No prizes for guessing who will be head honcho. Someone will have her nose out of joint when they move into the big coop!Oh aren't they sweet!
They look fully feathered so provided they have food, water and adequate shelter they should be fine. Just treat them the same way you do your other girls, you'll be fine Ribh.
You may need to sit with them more to get them used to you. I know that will be such a hardship for you!![]()
They actually went & hid @ the back of their coop.Ribh! They're lovelyhow have your big chooks responded?
I'll let you know MJ. So far they don't look like being a problem. There were a few of these in with the Norfolk Grey when i first met Peggy and Ivy!

You know me too well.Knowing @Ribh there could be 12 to name.![]()
I thought so too.I love those...what an awesome & thoughtful gift!![]()
I love Ariel but it is too close to 1 of the GKs names. If you are going with The Tempest and names that are not necessarily female what about Ariel?
Watch it as a comedy. It's hysterical viewed in the right light.Ooooh - Shakespearean ladies - how about Ophelia, Cressida, Desdemona, Viola, Rosalind, Mistress Quickly, Portia, Olivia, Goneril, Lady Macbeth, Cordelia, Beatrice, Cleopatra, Lady Anne. I could add Juliet but I really cannot stand that play.
