Maybe a Brahma in that case?An Orpington I think. Bigger lady. Think irony. Mistress Quickly should move slowly.

I think so, too! Both Margo and Bagheera were especially affectionate the day or days before they died. They were either looking for comfort or trying to tell me something was wrong. I did not get the hint, since they were both affectionate lap chickens. That is usual here.
As very tiny chicks just hatched, no fear of me at all.
A few days older and mum has taught them that bucket boy isn't chicken.
As teenagers more confident and friendly but a bit of a handfull at times.
When the hens start laying the do not like contact.
After about a year from watching the elders in the tribe put up with me they decide what I am and am not good for.
By three years old they're used to me and will put up with most things I do; apart from Donk who won't have any of it.
After three years old a lot depends on the chickens personality. Most just accept I'm some kind of oddball that has a place in the tribe.
The older they get in general the more friendly they become. They watch how the others react to you. They know that you'll help them when they are in trouble or sick/injured. I'm pretty sure I get points for looking after the sick. They seem to know.
Can you explain this Shad? Are you saying all baby chicks because they are so fragile? I have handled ALL my chicks. Do you think that I could have unknowingly caused them harm?I dare say some people will howl in protest at this, but you shouldn't handle young chicks. You can let them walk onto an outstreched palm if they wil, but that's about it. I don't handle the chicks here unless it's absolutley necessary.
I would think too high in calcium for babies. What about crushing up egg shells finely. That can be used as grit too can't it? Or is it too high in calcium for babies?
She's the calmest of my new girls & has decided I'm not a major threat.Aww, so sweet! She looks rather calm.
He's saying it's easy to unknowingly cause harm. And if I have understood the article correctly the prohibition can be lifted after 2 weeks. I've not ever done chicks so just repeating what I've understood from what I read. Can you explain this Shad? Are you saying all baby chicks because they are so fragile? I have handled ALL my chicks. Do you think that I could have unknowingly caused them harm?
Goodness! Don't put a new one over the top. The poop will act like a friction-less surface and you'll find yourself stepping lightly down from your trailer and skating across the field on the top layer of outdoor carpet! What??? You mean it isn’t all idyllic strolling through pastures with a little flock of sheep Following in a most docile manner at your heels; of course their wool will be pristine and they will smell like roses too!I have been trying to decide if I should attempt to wash away the cow patty at the bottom of the trailer steps, or if it will freeze (unlikely) or dry out (even less likely!) enough so I can scrape it away more easily. It’s on the outdoor carpet that was supposed to help cut down on the mud we track inside, but is now so coated with various types of poop I’m thinking of trying to source another to just layer over it. Not to mention when they poop on your car or truck!
Depends who the wrath was directed towards. People or other chickens.I think we should create a chart of wrathness. How would you rank them?
