Which were you expecting to have a domineering personality? The Wyandottes? I think I read that, too. However, I have two and both are pretty easy going. Lucky is one of my best lap sitters!
Because.........

Is there a roost in the coop? At this age they should want to roost at night.

There is a roost ~ & the size they are they should all fit along it quite nicely but no~one is using it. They were in a brooder @ the farm so guess they've not seen a proper roost before. They form a cuddle puddle on the floor. 🙄

Rice hulls? Can you explain this to me?
They get used as coop litter some places. I've never tried them but they are supposed to be pretty good. They sell them in bales @ our produce stores.

Good for you to be paying such close attention. She has a great chickeneer. :hugs
I put her back in the coop for the night because I have a cat that can open doors & midnight drama I do not need but of course she went straight into a nest! We argued about that for a bit but I finally convinced her to roost. At least she had a full crop. We were supposed to be out today ~ another reason for putting her back but it's so wet I think the man's going to woos so I will bring her back inside. She's not happy but @ least she's eating & drinking in the bathroom.
