Ribh's D'Coopage

Bloody hell is right @Ribh - my heart is still racing from reading that. I am so glad everyone is safe now. I cannot even imagine how I would cope with something like that.
You would do what you have to do to save your hens. @Ribh is right in that it is fair to say we would all likely rise to the occasion. It is the one thing that I find reliable in humans. In general we will fight to protect our loved ones.

Maybe she needed the police or was hurt. That is not a neighborly reaction.
Agreed! Hopefully he would do something if that need arose and as I believe MJ put it, he might be terrified of snakes! I'm not afraid of them at all, so I'm having a hard time being too gracious, but you just don't know what goes on in peoples minds!

That's funny, so would my Isabel. In some ways Davis is very dog-like. Belly rubs are definitely one.
I could sneak a few in, but you had to watch him closely...he never hurt me, I could get away with just about anything. His real person was my big, gruff, oldest son...they were a perfect match for each other...:love

This is our snake.
As suspected a carpet snake & very subdued after 12 hours in a chicken feed bag.

We released him in swamp land devoid of people habitation.
May he live long in the land & forever more avoid chickens!

:clap :clap :clap Way to do what needed to be done! I'm so glad your husband was able to assist but you were fierce in defense of your ladies. That is something of which to be proud.

I have never heard of a snake eating a chicken. I have heard of them eating eggs. Lordy. I am so glad you were up and able to intervene.
The man was saying that lots of people lose their chickens to snakes. I knew about eggs. We've lost eggs to snakes before but didn't realise the chickens were in danger also.

I too am glad I was up & able to do something. Gloriana had a very lucky escape.
