Ribh's D'Coopage

It has been said that the younger generation has a short attention span ;)

Isn't that a rabbit hole of a mission? I would guess there are hundreds of thousands of battery hens "available" all the time since they wear them out in a year or two and replace them with pullets.
Yes sadly, that would be the case. She just tries to give the ones they can rescue the best life, whilst raising awareness.

Shredding is exactly what Nightshade had in mind and now here he is resting his chin on my hand and purring as if butter wouldn't melt in his mouth. Only half an hour ago he was ready to kill everyone.
Éowyn took a nap at the vet's today. Some cats are just mostly chill.

Nightshade was sleeping on my desk and I think he had a nightmare about the vet visit.
In his sleep he started growling and whimpering. He was just starting to hiss when I gently stroked his head and he woke up with a start and started purring and leaning in to be cuddled.
It was quite strange to observe.
I often see them apparently dreaming - like when they run in their sleep - but I have never heard a cat vocalize like that in deep sleep.

I think size brings a certain confidence.
All those dogs and other cats that freak mine out are like little playthings to her!
There was another Maine Coon in the room next to her. He weighed a pound more than Éowyn and the vet said he was fat so he must be smaller in frame. She was very pleased with Éowyn. She caused no fuss even when they drew her blood.

The new *coop* is just a garden shed but is working quite well. It is walk in, about 12X12 & has a rack running round 3 sides the girls like to perch on. It is weather proof & has plenty of ventilation. It took a couple of nights to convince everyone this is their new home but it is roomy & they seem quite happy with it.
