Ribh's D'Coopage

Excellent observation and adjustment on your part. I expected nothing less. I am pleased to hear they are blending well so far.
Thanks, Bob but I figure it's one of the perks of having docile birds. They don't tend to get into real squabbles.

It took all day for these 2 to venture out of the coop
Even then they only made it as far as the first trees as if afraid to let the coop out of sight.

Meanwhile the babies were happily snuggled down in the grass every time I checked ~ until I went out to organise dinner.
I found both Tootsie & Sorbet gallivanting on the lawn while Africa went frantic in the pen. 🙄 Luckily I hadn't let the dogs out. Tootsie was happy to see me & let me scoop her up. Sorbet headed straight back to the pen!

Right from the from the get~go I've been giving the Took~Took food call when I put out their feed & all the girls know it. China & India, who might easily have ignored it, came running & were first back in the coop tonight but even the babies know it means food's on the way.

In other news I am not winning the garden war. I was losing pumpkins on the ground so hoped for better luck when the vine took off up the tree. Nope. Somethings still eating them hollow & they're not even ripe yet!😖

I'm so glad you have a call that they will answer to. Are you going to do something to keep the wee ones from wandering away from their friend? That had to be very stressful for her.

It' 32c out - that's nearly 90f & stinking hot. These two were still in the coop hiding so I grabbed them & brought them round to the lawn where there is presently shade & water. They were thrilled to see the little girls but wanted in to the pen. The big girls aren't being mean but they are definitely ostracising the new girls & they are feeling the sting. China is doing better but hanging with her buddy to give support. When I go out China comes hangs with me. Hopefully everyone will adjust shortly & I won't have to worry about these 2 cooking with the broodies.
