For the past few days my lot have been stopping @ the nest boxes when they come in to roost. They stand round in a loose semi circle staring intently into the boxes for a few minutes. It's as though they know something's about to happen. We are now officially on countdown.

Oh, yes, he's quite real! I hear them @ night; they like to get in the downpipes, but he's the first I've seen out in the open.

This brown frog entered the free range domain of the chickens.

He must have been there before I opened the run door.
He sat quietly for about a minute or 3 and the jumped quickly to /through the ivy hedge to the neighbors. Leaving a few hens bewildered when they noticed this creature who disappeared swiftly into ‘thin air’.

Still no babies but everyone is showing an inordinate amount of interest in what's going on in these nesting boxes.

YES! We have babies.
So far Alpia has one.

Wrold has 2 with a third piping.​

So far all 3 are different: a black, a stripped & a pale yellow.

A question for experienced hatchers: The girls seem to have generated a mite plague in the nesting boxes. Can I treat immediately or should I wait till the babies are bigger?
