Ribh's D'Coopage

I can't help, RC. Freya is a rescue. We think she's been abused by males somewhere in her past as she hates anything male: my other cats, my boarder, the males at bible study. She's just got to learn not everything male is out to get her.
One of mine (she rules the sofa) hates all living creatures except me. It is unclear what I do to deserve her love but it is more complicated than I open cans of cat food because even my pet sitter who gives her food whenever I travel has only seen her a couple of times. Normally as a streak of tabby tail disappearing around a corner

I've always owned rescues & they all react differently to abuse/neglect. My boys have always been very timid. Freya is aggressive. The one thing they've all had in common is I'm their safe place. 🙄 Freya doesn't like sharing her safe place.

Mine are all rescues too. My big boy Nightshade had a sister but they were both very sick and his sister didn’t make it. Everyone thought Nightshade would die too but he pulled through.
Another of mine was severely malnourished and now she is a real fatty and cannot cope with the others having food without her eating most of it.

My mother Jeanne, when she lived independently, was always on the hotline from cat rescue groups, identified as The Best Sucker to Call. Her next-to-last cat Samantha was terrified of everything and everyone, and hid under the bed whenever she heard an unfamiliar voice.

No one ever laid eyes on her. She was known as Jeanne's “cat” (insert air quotes.)

I felt incredibly honored to have actually seen her entire body all at once.
