Rice For Chickens

All the chickens at and near our house in Thailand eat cooked and uncooked rice , and I have never seen any explode or bloat.
If the rice people feed it to their birds I would venture to say that it is safe. LOS

I know a lot of people don't eat raw food any more (even though they should) but when did birds learn to use an oven or earn the money to buy one?
All birds that eat seed have been doing so uncooked for millions of years.

Cooked, for sure cooked. I know you can't feed wild birds uncooked rice because it swells when they drink hater and can kill the birds.

This is untrue and very much a wives tail.
You can feed all the rice you want to birds and it will not swell up and kill them.....

Just a FYI,
All grains/seed will swell in water (to a point).

Yep, I agree it is an old wives tale that just won't die as long people actually believe it but have no concrete to prove it that it won't hurt them. Even it did, it is just mere happening, like spores, molds, bad rice that would make them sick.

Besides they got grits in their gizzards, so highly unlikely it would cause those little rice to swell so bad.
